Health and Hiv/AIDS Rights

BWSG focuses on Right to Health including access to quality healthcare services, including HIV testing, treatment (like antiretroviral therapy), care, and support, access to sexual and reproductive health services and Confidential and voluntary HIV testing.

BWSG advocates for Right to Non-Discrimination which includes Protection from discrimination based on real or perceived HIV status in healthcare, employment, education, housing, and public services. This includes stigma faced by key populations (e.g., sex workers, LGBTQ+ people, people who inject drugs).

BWSG advocates for Right to Privacy and Confidentiality by ensuring Protection of personal health information and Informed consent required before any HIV test or disclosure of HIV status.

BWSG Right to Education and Information supports women to access to accurate, age-appropriate HIV education and Public awareness campaigns to combat myths and stigma.

BWSG Right to Work for Equal opportunity and treatment in the workplace as well as No unfair dismissal or discrimination based on HIV status.

BWSG Right to Participation and Involvement of people living with HIV in decision-making processes affecting their lives, including policy development and healthcare programs.

BWSG Right to Legal Protection and Access to Justice by advocating for Laws that protect against HIV-related discrimination as well as Legal support and remedies for violations of rights.
