About Boya Women Support Group
Boya Women Support Group is a feminist women led organization founded by a group of women who were widowed due to HIV/AIDS from Nyando ethnic minority communities in the Nyanza region whose aim is a just society where ethnic minority women and girls enjoy full Health rights and live in dignity with an aim to expand and actualize ethnic minority women and girls’ voice on Health and HIV/AIDS rights and justice. Further, the organization focuses on increasing support through public interest litigation and legal aid to marginalized ethnic minority women and girls to amplify their voices so they can challenge social norms and structural discrimination barriers and compel Government to address historical land rights injustices against women and girls.
With assistance from our partners, we undertake various activities to facilitate culturally rooted, participatory decision-making processes within communities with the aim of asserting rights over their communally managed lands and traditional knowledge.
